Rules

Terms and Conditions Tattoo Contest – 33. Tattoo Convention Berlin

General Participation

  • Only artists with their own booth space are admitted to the contest
  • The minimum age for participants is 18 years old
  • Each artist may enter a maximum of one work per category for the contest
  • Each work can only be submitted once for the entire contest
  • All submitting artists must be submitted with a starting picture at the convention, at least xx hours before the start of the respective category at the information desk or via the online form

  • Best of Realistic
  • Best of Big
  • Best of Colab

The submitted motif must correspond to the respective style. The submission of a tattoo that corresponds to a different category will be assigned to the respective category by the contest team (example: a Spiderman in Realistic style will also be assigned to the Realistic category)

Permissible work

  • Only tattoos that have been completely created on site and can be proven during the convention are eligible to participate
  • Only stencils may be prepared in advance, and the use of previously created guides is also not permitted
  • Discriminatory and extremist content is excluded from participation

Procedure and presentation

  • The models have to present the tattoo live on stage
  • The model must be specified at the time of registration and must be available on site
  • Registration must be made at the information desk at least 2 hours before the start of the respective category
  • When registering, 2 pictures must be submitted. A picture of the model without a tattoo and with a stencil attached. The pictures must show that they were taken at the convention
  • The artists are responsible for arriving on time for the stage presentation
  • All submitted tattoos will be documented in the media

Evaluation by the jury

The jury consists of 4 international professional jurors

The following main categories are evaluated with a total of 50 possible points

  • Technology and precision
  • Composition & Anatomy
  • Originality & Creativity
  • Difficulty & Effort
  • Overall impression & effect

In addition, there is the possibility to distribute up to 5 bonus points

  • Innovative technology
  • Thematic depth
  • Traditional crafts
  • Interaction with body shape
  • Placement of the tattoo

Public Voting

  • The audience can submit ratings for the respective works via the app
  • The points are distributed as follows:
  1. Place: 5 Reward Points
  2. Place: 3 bonus points
  3. Place: 1 bonus point

Transparency & Fairness

  • The jury’s decision is final and not subject to appeal
  • It is forbidden to contact the jury during or before the contest
  • In the event of attempts at cheating or violations of the rules, immediate disqualification will take place

Awards and Honors

Each category receives an award (certificate)

Places 1 to 3 will receive a trophy

The winners will be announced on stage

Prizes cannot be exchanged for cash

Rights and obligations

By participating, the artists and models agree to the use of their work and person for advertising purposes.

All participants commit themselves to respectful and fair treatment of each other and towards the jury and the staff of the Tattoo Convention Berlin. The organizer reserves the right to cancel individual categories if there is too little participation
