Terms and Conditions of Participation Tattoo Contest – 34. Tattoo Convention Berlin 

General Participation

• Only artists with their own booth space are admitted to the contest
• The minimum age for participants is 18 years old
• Each artist may enter a maximum of one work per category for the contest
• Each work can only be submitted once for the entire contest
• All submitting artists must submit a starting picture at the convention, at least 2 hours before the start of the respective category, at the information desk or via the online form

Saturday

• Best of Fineline
• Best of Lettering
• Best of Traditional
• Best of Neotraditional
• Best of Horror
• Best of Realistic
• Best of Black Work

Sunday

• Best of Comic/Manga
• Best of Asia
• Best of Big
• Best of Collab
• Best Tattoo Studio
• Best of show

The submitted motif must correspond to the respective style. The submission of a tattoo that corresponds to a different category will be assigned to the respective category by the contest team (example: a Spider-Man in Realistic style will also be assigned to the Realistic category) 

Permissible work

• Only tattoos that have been fully created on site and can be proven during the convention are eligible to participate.
• Only stencils may be prepared in advance, and the use of previously created guides is also not permitted.
• Discriminatory and extremist content is excluded from participation.

Procedure and presentation

• The models have to present the tattoo live on stage
• The model must be specified at the time of registration and must be available on site
• Registration must be made at the information desk at least 2 hours before the start of the respective category
• When registering, 2 pictures must be submitted. A picture of the model without a tattoo and with a stencil attached. The pictures must show that they were taken at the convention
• The artists are responsible for arriving on time for the stage presentation
• All submitted tattoos will be documented in the media

Evaluation by the jury

• The weighting of the evaluation is:
  • Each juror: 31.6%

The jury consists of 3 international professional jurors

The following main categories are evaluated with a total of 50 possible points

• Tattoo Placement 
• Concept
• Execution (Quality) 
• Effort 
• Technical Difficulty 

Public Voting

• The weighting of the evaluation is:
• Public voting via the App: 5%

• The audience can submit ratings for the respective works via the app
• The points are distributed as follows:

1. Place: 5 Reward Points
2. Place: 3 bonus points
3. Place: 1 bonus point

 

Transparency & Fairness

• The jury’s decision is final and not subject to appeal
• It is forbidden to contact the jury during or before the contest
• In the event of attempts at cheating or violations of the rules, immediate disqualification will take place

Awards and Honors

• Each category receives an award (certificate)
• Places 1 to 3 will receive a trophy
• The winners will be announced on stage
• Prizes cannot be exchanged for cash

Rights and obligations

By participating, the artists and models agree to the use of their work and person for advertising purposes.
All participants commit themselves to respectful and fair treatment of each other and towards the jury and the staff of the Tattoo Convention Berlin. The organizer reserves the right to cancel individual categories if participation is too low.

I am 37 years old and have been passionately tattooing for the past 16 years. During this time, I have gained valuable experience at numerous tattoo conventions both in Germany and abroad. My specialties include sketch tattoos, animals, landscapes, and custom designs with a strong focus on detail and character. I am especially honored to be part of the jury at the Tattoo Convention Berlin 2026. 

I’m Anne, 37 years old, and I’ve been tattooing for over 10 years. My focus is on colorful tattoos with bold contrasts, vibrant colors, and strong visual impact. I feel most at home working in comic, neo-traditional, color realism, and creative style fusion tattoos. Through participating in tattoo conventions in Germany and abroad, I have gained valuable experience over the years and continuously refined and developed my artistic style. 

I’m Joachim, 29 years old, and I discovered my passion for tattooing in 2017. Since 2019, I have been working as a professional tattoo artist. My focus is on fine line tattoos, lettering, and custom designs. In addition, I regularly tattoo on board the Mein Schiff fleet for Wildcat Tattoo and have participated in numerous tattoo conventions throughout Germany. I’m excited to be part of the jury at the Berlin Tattoo Convention 2026.
